Kathleen A. Angeletti, Ph.D.

Dr. Kathleen Angeletti is the Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Teacher Education in the College of Education at the University of Maryland.  She oversees the teacher preparation programs in the College and coordinates assessment and accreditation efforts related to educator preparation.  In this role, she oversees the College’s P-16 Partnership Center; serves as the University’s Title II Coordinator and teacher certification officer; maintains and develops school system partnerships; serves as the University’s liaison to the Maryland State Department of Education; coordinates ongoing accreditation efforts (CAEP, Middle States, etc.); provides leadership for teacher education committees; coordinates edTPA implementation efforts; and directs assessment and program evaluation for all educator preparation programs at the university.

Dr. Angeletti serves on the University System of Maryland’s Inter-Institutional Coordinating Committee Articulation Group, which is committed to the successful transfer and retention of community college students at four-year institutions.  She also is a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Maryland edTPA Collaborative, a multi-institutional group that is committed to creating a P20 learning community that advocates for the use of meaningful performance assessments (i.e., edTPA) and best practices in teacher education. She has also served as an evaluator for a number of State/NCATE (CAEP) accreditation visits, including serving as chair of the State Teams for the UMUC, Towson, and Stevenson University accreditation visits.
